CHEC maintains an Activity and Event Calendar, hosted by Google Calendars. Any CHEC member may subscribe to the calendar and add activities such as field trips, park days, classes, meetings, etc. To subscribe, please send an e-mail to Paula Bolyard.
If you already have a Google account of any kind (Gmail, Blogger, Google Calendar, etc.) you will automatically be subscribed to the calendar upon request. Once you are subscribed, simply go to the Google Calendar website and sign in using your existing Google account.
If you do not have an existing Google account, you will be sent an invitation to create one (watch your e-mail for this and check your spam folder if you do not see it). Follow the instructions for creating an account and follow the links to the calendar.
Once you are signed in to the calendar, it's as easy as clicking on the date and typing in the event details. When you click on a time slot on the calendar, a window will appear with details for your event. If you click on "edit event details" you will be able to enter specific details about your event, including specific times and the location. Note: if you type in the exact address of the event, Google will create a link to a map to that location right on the calendar! There is also a place for notes, so you can include information about prices, recommended ages, etc.
When viewing an event, be sure to click on it to open it up so you can read all the details about it.
