Who We Are
Christian Home Educators Co-op (CHEC) is an organization comprised of Christian homeschooling families, having the intent and purpose of promoting Christian homeschooling and providing support, resources, activities, and Christian fellowship to its members. CHEC is open to Christian families who are homeschooling at least one child K4 or older effective September of the current school year. Membership is restricted to families who have been excused from compulsory education, as described in the Ohio Administrative Code 3301-34 or 3301-35-08, and have filed said form or forms as required (applicable for children ages 6-18). K4 child must be an active participant in the Academy/Co-op.
Children enrolled in a public school, private school, public school operating through the home, “cyber school”, publicly funded e-school (such as but not limited to, E-COT, OHDELA, Ohio Virtual Academy, or Treeca), charter school, virtual academy, or any other publicly-funded community school, are participating in compulsory education as clarified in the Ohio Revised Code (ORC) 3314.041. Therefore, membership to CHEC will not be granted.
